I have been producing, engineering and mixing for
over 25 years. Initially known for recording and
producing new wave and punk bands such as Magazine,
Public Image Ltd, Penetration and The Ruts, I had
success collaborating with many other artists,
including
The
Waterboys,
Furniture,
The Wonder
Stuff,
Frank Zappa,
Ian Gillan, John Lee Hooker and
Lloyd Cole.
I also have a 25 year history with Van Morrison which persists to this day. I spent most of 2004, 2005 & 2006 extensively mixing Van's archive material, as well as live performances from the Montreux Jazz Festival, in 5.1 surround sound, for the first ever Van Morrison DVD. Between November 2008 and January 2009, I recorded and mixed the music for the CD/DVD project "Astral Weeks, Live At The Hollywood Bowl", which won the Music Producers Guild (UK) award for Best Live Album in 2010.
I have recently produced debut albums for singer/songwriters Naomi Bedford and Ariel, recording and mixing Lloyd Cole's new live album, mixing for the New York project; "Heroes Of The Dancefloor", and producing new projects for Spanish band, Cornelius, and Sparkydog from Florida.
My work has also featured many left-field and ground-breaking artists including Tangerine Dream, Xmal Deutschland, Manuel Göttsching (Ashra) and Southern Death Cult.
In 2010, I was presented with the Music Producers Guild (UK) award for Recording Engineer of the Year.
